What’s Happening?

Today is going to be another hot and humid day with highs reaching 35 degrees and with humidity it will feel like we are on Mars. Remember, keep cool. What ever happened to those really cold days in February? I could roll around in the snow all day today.

To my surprise 680news was the only news organization to report the bank robbery and bomb threat at the RBC main branch at Bay and Front. In a post 911 world you would think the authorities would take things like that a little more seriously.

The Toronto Caribbean Carnival (Caribana) Festival is going down this weekend. Looks like another couple of million people are ready to jump up and keep up jumping up all weekend long. How high can you jump?

If every bomb threat was on the news, all the news would be is a constantly updated list of current bomb threats.

It’s sensationalist to report on these threats.

Yes, I agree that it’s not good to sensationalize every bomb threat that comes to be, but if some walks into one of the most important financial buildings in our city which employs thousands of people which also happens to sit right in front of our busiest transportation hub (Union Station) and one of the city’s hotel landmark and says “Give me money or I will blow up this building!” seems to me a little different than one who calls in a bomb threat to cancel an exam at school.

How high can I jump? In this heat?? Are you kidding?! Looking at that pic and thinking of snow angels feels wonderful!

I didn’t hear about that robbery, but right now I’m in a bit of a news funk, as in, can’t get myself up to reading or watching it. Pretty shocking, as it’s usually the smaller branches that seem to get robbed. And your comment about the context of the bomb threat is right on.
