A long-time Torontonian, alternately loving this city and hating what it's become, who loves to opine on local politicians and local doings and who enjoys getting out and about to photograph the best parts of Toronto (and sometimes the dregs when the mood moves me). I am also the author of "Lifeliner: The Judy Taylor Story," the moving and poignant biography of a Canadian woman who made medical history as the first person to live long-term strictly on intravenous feeding without eating any food. She and my father were the pioneers of TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition), a medical technology that has nourished thousands and thousands as they recover from trauma, battle with cancer, or live with AIDS.
