Townshoes Contest

Townshoes at Eaton Centre was host to the company’s most recent “Top Shoe-aholic” contest.
I think most everyone knows that this marketing ploy was created to lure shoppers into the store. Heck, just look at the picture! Yes, that’s a pole dancer. There were a couple Marketing Coordinators in attendance, monitoring the crowd. A cure PR intern was taking pictures of the crowd, for analysis later on, I imagine.
A friend was one of 250 finalists. Five winners were chosen. I didn’t stick around to find out who they were. I did stick around long enough for some red wine, cheese and grapes on a stick, and a bag of free swag. They also had manicures, free coupons for shoes, chocolate shoes (it was one of the finalists and, I suspect, a winner), two girls dancing on a pole, a spinning wheel for free shtuff, and a cute and helpful rep name Chharvy (I think. Can’t remember. Too much vino).
I actually wanted to buy some new shoes, but the guys section was blocked off by the manicurists. I guess they didn’t expect dudes to be much in attendance at this very transparent “contest.”

Thus the pole-dancers, perhaps?
They think of everything!
The chocolate shoes actually DIDN’T win! I was surprised myself.
