Ahhhh, For the Love of NXNE

Decided to take an extended study break tonight. Heck it was nearly 11pm what was I suposed to do, sleep?

Glad I didn’t sleep on North by North East (NXNE). Grabbed a wristband in time and over to the Horseshoe in time to see Sea Wolf and Buffalo Tom. Buffalo Tom are old favourites of mine and busted out some old tunes along with a couple of songs off their album to be released next month.

The good thing about North by North East are the pleasant surprises along the way. Had I not decided to hit the Horseshoe to see Buffalo Tom I would have completely missed out on Sea Wolf who were AMAZING. Not often that you get to see Los Angeles indie music in your own backyard!

The bad thing, you can’t be all over the city at once. Crawled home after Buffalo Tom only to find out Adam Franklin had a 1 am set at the Reverb and Wooden Stars had their 1 am slot at Sneaky Dee’s…argh! Hunter Valentine also had a set at 9pm at the Drake which I complete missed while consumed in numbers and books.

Well Hunter Valentine are seasoned locals and Adam Franklin will be in Hamilton next month so all is not lost…LoL
