Prepare To Be Privatized

Whoa the TSX continues it’s meteoric rise but is it at our expense? While Alcan has initially rejected the first offer it’s not over yet. BCE is still a target and our Oil fortunes may too be forgoten as yet another “Canadian” company could bite the dust.
Royal Dutch Shell already bought Shell Canada this year, next on the menu is Esso. Imperial Oil is 30% Canadian but probably not for long.
The Calgary cash out continues, time will tell if anything is left. Doubtless that the current Federal government will do anything about this. While they have listened in part to Corporate Canada’s concerns on the ill planned tax changes the focus now is the soft sell in Afganistan and a push to expand the war there in next few months. It’s beginning to look a lot like south of the border with certain oil buddies and private companies cashing in.
Well on our way from breaking last year’s record, will we see a ka-boom or bust?
