What’s Your Favorite TTC Seat

I know for those you use the public transit we all have our favorite seats. There are always those specific seats we would rather have so we could read, sleep, have a bite to eat or just to feel a lot more comfortable in. Riding the 196 everyday I prefer this seat. I see the whole bus and I feel all cozy in the corner. The single seats are usually good except for when the bus is full, and then you got people hovering over you. Taking a nap sitting on the seats that ride along the side in the rear of the bus is sometimes impossible because you end up leaning on someone. That’s not good, I hate getting nudged! I don’t ride the subway or streetcars often so I don’t have any favorites on those. With that in mind, I am putting out a call for your favorite TTC seats. Where do you like to sit?

Sitting by the window seat, next to the 3-row beside the doors (and if you have a big bag, you can place it on the other seat so no one can sit on it).

I like sitting in the seats facing the side windows, preferably the one on the end to not be thrusted back and forth by starts and stops but instead sideways. When the bus isn’t full, people sit with one seat in between and even if someone sits next to me, it’s still more open than sitting next to someone facing forward.

See, this all depends. If the ride is short, I love the seats nearest the doors. If it’s long, I like the window seat of the first double-seater at the front, or either of the window seats at the two-seaters at the back. If I feel like people-watching, I take the non-window seats at the back; the one on the left side allows for viewing of practically everyone on the bus. And if I want to sleep, the seats that Gwen mentions and for exactly the same reasons.

Like Gwen said, my least fav. seat is the one where the other person faces you from the side. (the last seat facing inwards before the 1st double seater)

Other than that, if it is busy but I feel like sitting I go for the raised portion on the newer buses. (If you sit up front you vacate the seat faster..) Or I stand just before the double seats on the new buses on the side where the door is… and hold on
