Garbage Sorting Mistakes in the Parks
TheStar.com - News - City watching its waste
Yesterday, Abbas wanted to know what it costs the city to fix the public’s garbage sorting mistakes, and today The Toronto Star obliged with a partial answer for the city’s parks.
Recycling bins contain 20% organic, 20% regular, and only up to 66% recyclable.
Regular garbage bins contain 25% recyclable, 25% dog crap (well, they want us to pick up after them, where else is it going to go? They should hire Super Scoopers to take it where it belongs, the sewage treatment plant but I digress), and up to 15% illegal household waste.
Now if people can’t tell the diff between recyclables and regular garbage, just how are they coping at home where they also have to wrap their brain around the question of is this a green bin item or regular?
