Is Playdead…DEAD?
Are rumours of Playdead’s demise true? Playdead have been hipster go-getters for a long while making clothing in the new punk/hardcore vibe. These Toronto independent designers have flexed their muscle and have distro deals in the UK and Australia. Not too shaby.
Got wind of their Craiglist post earlier this week but missed out on the festivities Saturday. Hopefully their original shop on Bathurst managed to stay intact or else some people will have to find a new place to buy their belts and cool black T-shirts.
(I’m hoping that Saturday’s event was simply a “GARAGE SALE” or Spring Cleaning and not the beginning of the end)

I live around the corner from their studio space in Parkdale, and there’s a big dumpster in front of the place that is overflowing with stuff. Definitely looks like a place that’s closing up, or at least going through a big change/purge of some sort.
