Maximum Sentences for Youth Killers
I’ve been following this story for a while now: two Mississauga girls drowned their mother in a bathtub. They were sentenced this week.
They were only 15 and 16 yrs old when they committed the crime. They’re now 19 and 20 so by the time they get out, they’ll be 29 & 30. They’ll still have a life, though what kind of life it could be after spending a decade in prison, I can’t guess.
Though possibly just conjecture, the scariest part is at the end of the Globe and Mail article: “that given the right circumstances, the girls could kill again.”
