Parking @ Pacific Mall

So I went to Taste of Asia this Saturday. I wasn’t really there for the event; there were some things I needed to pick up at Curry’s.

Pacific Mall parking was packed! Surprisingly, however, I saw very few fights at the parking lot and people were generally cordial. Of course, they would have gotten a spot faster if they just thought for a moment.

Every parking lot has an out-of-the-way area no one parks in. People either don’t know about it or they don’t like walking. Me? I like to walk. I’m ambulatory so why not take advantage. Also, it saves gas.

For Pacific Mall, I like to park on the east side of Market Village. You go east and follow the path behind the stores. If you see large metallic garbage disposals you’re in the right place. Keep going till you hit the area that separates two buildings. If you’re going to Market Village, this is the best place to park. The path leads to one end of Market Village. If you’re going to Pacific and want to bypass Market Village, park at the area directly north-west of the mall. It’s not that far a walk. Really. Or, you can park to the west of Curry’s. No one parks there. Max two-minute walk to Pacific.

People neglect these areas because they think it’s too far. But, if you’re not afraid of walking (which everyone in Scarborough apparently is) you save yourself a whole lotta time trying to find a space. Plus you save on gas.

If you’re still not convinced, let me ask you this: Would you rather spend five minutes trying to find a spot, waiting for a car to leave or would you rather park quickly, then spend 2 minutes walking to the mall?

I would want to save on gas.

Thanks for the tip - I visit my parents from the States and we go to Pacific Mall for the heck of it. Something to do/buy. Always found it frustrating to park there. I can def. drop my folks off at the entrance and then park back there and walk.

I parked my car in Toronto on July 5, 2006 and as I am not from Toronto I managed to misplace the car after parking it over night. It was in the area from carlton to bloor, I believe off yonge st. The car is a 2001 Ford Focus ZTS, licence plate ATXY 182, it is black and has tinted windows…I am not sure how to locate the lot it was in as I have been searching for over a week…please contact me if anything can be done..

Have you tried contacting Toronto Police Services? They have a sophisticated system for tracking down lost/stolen cars. Basically police cars with cameras mounted on the roof patrol the city and the cameras record and compare license plates looking for cars that have been reported as lost or stolen.

Yes, Big Brother is watching us.

    Good luck on your search.
