FIFA
Even with all the attention now on Soccer it still may be hard for a Canadian based site to write about it seeing that Canada is nowhere near these teams. This is where Canada stands in the FIFA rankings:

However, our being Toronto, called ‘the most diverse city in the world’ at times, means this sort of world wide event can involve all of us. I know at my work there were many conversations and debates, bets and frustrations. (And the event hadn’t started yet then) You see all types of flags hanging from balconies, over windows, outside of cars. Toronto lives the World Cup every four years.
Also, Toronto in soccer news isn’t totally vacant either.
First: Toronto is going to help host a related event as one of six Canadian venues for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup - Canada 2007.
Second: The Toronto Football Club (Toronto FC) will begin play as the 13th member of the Major Soccer League in the 2007 season. The stadium is located at Exhibition Place and holds 20,000 seats.
Third: A quote about Toronto: “Toronto provides the perfect backdrop for the world’s number one sport given our city’s diversity and affinity for soccer.”
