Valet Parking at Yorkdale
Honk. Swerve. Cuss. Honk again. Watch pedestrian threaten to kill you and maybe show some fingers. Drive in circles for an hour. Follow people very very slowly until they either get the point or report you for stalking. Block aisle while outgoing driver displays her “makeup in rearview mirror and crowded parking lot” technique. Carry shopping bags to the furthest end of mall parking and then walk some more to the nearest strip mall. Pull your hair out when two testerone charged morons decide to fight over a parking space for the next 20 min and cause blockages all the way to Vancouver (ok I admit, that one is an exaggeration). And all this… just so your loved ones can get that warm fuzzy, “just got showered with presents” feeling this year.
So Yorkdale apparently has a solution for you. Valet Parking for $4. Apparently you can drop it off at the entrance and pick it up from where you dropped it off. I just heard about it today so can’t really vouch for whether they will end up using your car for winter dog walking. However am presuming it should be alright. Also according to another friend there are hidden parking lots. Instead of spending hours finding parking, use the subway lot or the 3rd and 4th floors of the underground garage which are usually empty.
On a side note a friend of mine was there last saturday shopping. Fish market I tell you. Fish market.

I used this service last year and it was amazing. You hop out in the underground garage area (follow the signs) right by a door and it only takes 5 min to get your car when you are ready to leave. They park the cars in the garage section so no snow either. Totally worth it I say. Esp. at Yorkdale where one could walk for days!
I agree that Valet Parking is something that this city needs and I am working on bringing that to ths city to restaraunts, nightclubs, concerts, special events. Check out http://www.canadiangirlvaletparking.com. I commend Yorkdale for providing this service.
