So Hazel McCallion who recently made The Order of Canada, is runner-up in the World Mayoral Awards. Voted second best in the world, she deservedly got it following suit to only the mayor of Athens, Greece. David Miller was also on the finalists page, but according to the webpage, it’s not really sure where he was left standing at the end of the voting. He was not in the top 10.

It’s unbelievable to even fathom the fact that she has gone unchallenged as mayor for the past 27 years, has kept the city debt free throughout her career and is still going strong at the age of 84.
