101.1

Ugh.

It finally happened. After a couple of summers of fearing that this reality was just too close for comfort, I saw the big “101.1″ pricing on pretty much all the gas stations that I passed.

So what does this mean? Is this the end of civilization as we know it?

Or maybe it was a blessing in disguise that my car got totalled… and it has now been replaced with a more gas-efficient drive.

Nah. Not a blessing. Just one tiny amount of good luck during a string of bad luck.

Consider yourself lucky - I filled up at 112.5 this morning with premium fuel that my car requires.

I just can’t believe these prices. And last week when prices were 96¢, I was only putting in $5 at a time because I refused to fill up at that price.

    adam,

when i was shopping around for a car, i make sure it would take regular gas. i figure that if i could afford a car that could take premium fuel, then i wouldn’t be overly concerned about the rise in price.

Yeah - I’m actually planning on making my next car hybrid or altenate fuel entirely. I think in a few years we’re about to hit a breaking point where it will just become too ridiculous to use conventional fuel for cars.
