Canadian Dragon Boat Team Wins World Cup!

At least half of the paddlers on this women’s team is from Toronto… two of which are my very good friends.

The good news… they won all three events, making it a first for Canadian history. Only up until the last Dragon Boat World Cup held in Shanghai, the women’s team from China had been undefeated for several years.

This is difinitely something to be proud of. Not only does it put Canada up there in the number one spot, but will continually help aid the sport recogniztion coming from Toronto, as this team trains hard right from this city.

In 2006, the Club Crew Championship will be held here (read more).

As well, there is talk that dragon boating will be the demo sport in the Beijing Olympic Games.
