A violent week

I’m sure all eyes and ears of my fellow Torontorians have been following some of the tragic and graphic news of this week. Seems like one bad news right after another.

A poor child clinging onto life… The graphic scene of a police car, pinning a man armed with two knives to a bike rack… And the horrific scene of a man lighting himself on fire.

My husband and I watched the news today as the EMS and firefighters were in the spotlight for their quick and brave responses.

Thank god for that. I know that the media’s purpose was to put a positive spin of such events by showing the selflessness and heroic acts of these people as a way of lifting some of the gloom on our city this week… a way of pumping moral.

I do appreciate the effort but I am still somewhat saddened to hear such events take place this week.

And that little girl in the hospital… *sigh*

This week has been surreal. I’ve never seen such violence either. :(
