As much as I love Toronto…

Welcome the February blahs. I sense it’s arriving early this year.

I have a number of friends and relatives who are smart enough to plan their tropical destination around January or February. Just a week or two away in order to help them make it through the last long stretch of winter.

At least right now I do. And yes, I completely admit that I’m being whiney and outright jealous of their warm and sunny excursions.

How pitiful of me. Am I not Canadian? Should I not brave such cold conditions that are not even close to the cold conditions felt in our neighbouring, northern cities and towns?

For shame of me.

Or perhaps it’s the problem of our four seasons which go from extreme heat to extreme cold. When it becomes sticky and hot, we wonder when the cold breeze will arrive… when it becomes dry and freezing, we wonder when the sun will warm us again…

The grass is always greener.

I actually miss cold weather. And I would kill in a heartbeat to get a chance to do a bit of skiing

paul… dude… forget skiing. you gotta ride, man. RIDE! snowboarding is where it’s at! :)

actually, you haven’t skied or boarded in are parts have you?

put it this way. we don’t have any mountains. hills at most. with a commute of about 2 hours to get to… and sometimes, the ski/board season is only 3 months long at most. and when it’s icy on the slopes it’s a real bitch.

Missing the slightly cooler spring-type weather myself.

Although we don’t go to the extremes that you guys do (extreme cold, but we do have the extreme hot at times!).

Oh, and we get 4 seasons (or more, that is a disputable point) in a day (at times).

It was bright, sunny, hot just over a half hour ago, and now it just rained and it’s cooled down…
