Cosmo Restaurant
One of the privileges of living in Toronto is finding oneself surrounded by a variety of different restaurants. Forget the big, franchized chain eating establishments. The amount of different dining experiences are far too much to list. It should be noted, however, that there are so many different little gems hidden in this city.
One of my favourite new discovers is Cosmo Restaurant found on St. Clair, just west of Dufferin St.
The decor is modern and simple. The atomshpere is nothing but relaxing and mellow. And the food is simply delish!
Our friends found this place by chance and decided to have a go at it for a good friend’s birthday. Ever since, my husband and I have gone back for many other occasions, if not just to wine and dine with each other for a much needed date (i.e. break from being parents).
Imagine starting off with a warm mushroom salad, then sharing an incredible appetizer of escargot, frangranced with thyme and enveloped in a light pastry, followed by their famous duck confit (”As shown on City TV!”)
I crave for their duck. There are literally nights where I have found myself lying in bed, salivating over my obsession and sinful love affair with their duck confit.
My husband and I have had many memorable nights dining at Cosmo’s with good friends. There is simply nothing like unwinding after a hard day’s work, sitting at a very large, square table, sipping our wine (or chugging our beer - it depends on what kind of a day we’ve all had), laughing it up while listening to the smooth sounds of deep house and watching the candle lit tables illuminate our eyes and our smiles.
Forget the fact that the duck was shown on City TV. It’s beyond fabulous to need anymore advertisement.
Give it a go and enjoy:
